Courtney R. Chrusch
Courtney is an articling student at Overholt Law LLP.
Courtney graduated from the Schulich School of Law at Dalhousie University in May 2022. Throughout Courtney’s law degree, she acted as a Copy Editor to several successful publications at the Dalhousie Law Journal. She was also actively involved in the Schulich Law and Halifax communities throughout her legal education, including by providing pro bono legal representation to employees appealing Nova Scotia Labour Board decisions. In this work, Courtney gained exposure to a variety of workplace law issues ranging from human rights complaints to cannabis intoxication disputes. Courtney also represented students accused of violating academic integrity through the Dalhousie Student Advocacy Service, where she individually tailored her approach to ensure each student was afforded a fair opportunity to defend their position. Last but not least, she promoted access to justice within Nova Scotian communities by volunteering with the Dalhousie Legal Aid Service to provide individualized legal information regarding tenancy violations.
Prior to law school, Courtney completed a B.A (Hons.) in Psychology from the University of British Columbia and a M.A. in Political Science at the University of Saskatchewan. Throughout her pre-law education, she volunteered with the Elizabeth Fry Society to provide personalized referrals and resources for women who had experienced sexual assault. Courtney brings a breadth of advocacy skills to Overholt Law LLP to best serve clients in the context of workplace law matters.
Outside of the office, Courtney enjoys attending music concerts, growing her guitar & harmonica skills, and travelling to new destinations. Since relocating to Vancouver, she looks forward to exploring outdoor activities in her new backyard.
